You've inspired me to listen to some Jerry this morning. Here are 5 shows from the 80's that are all must haves but at the same time not mentioned often in previous threads here:

5-20-84 the greatest Sugaree ever played by either GD or JGB
11-4-81 Roadrunner is incendiary
12-3-83 Great sound quality, well played show
2-15-81 one of the best shows from one of the best months
2-22-80 I have to mention since I went to Rutgers U but you will not be disappointed

bonus show: 8-12-84 the whole week is excellent. One of my favorite How Sweet it is, as an encore

I'd like to hear 5-20-1984 Sugaree, know where I can get it?

Also, I remember an awesome Deal played by JGB in 1984, can't remember the exact date, but it was as good or better than any version I've heard...does this ring a bell?

It's part of the 1984 project at Lossless Legs. You'll need to request a reseed. I'm not sure but Arbuthnot may have this show as he's fond of '84.

Strat, my guess on the Deal you are referring to is either 8-15-84 in Middletown NY or 3-9-84 at the Keystone.

it was a filler on 11-25-1983 JGB tape that has been "relocated" through the years...the later date sounds vaguely familiar...

5/20/04 an awsome Sugaree. I remember being right up front and completely sober at the Country Club. This was the 4th night in a 4 night southland run (Beverly Theater, Irvine, Santa Barbara, Reseda). During the first three nights a large group was chanting "Sugaree" before the Hunter and Garcia sets. I remember it was real jamming. It's good to see someone (billydlions) saying this was the "best" Sugaree ever from a historical perspective of 25 years later and Arbuthnot for posting the link to the song.

thanks for the post...it's always been an ambiguous play at a club remembered by several diff names and confusing to the community (admittedly incl myself) who were unable to attend even though familiar with area, save for for the actual year involved..
A rose by any other name...is still an incredible show!

Sorry, to be "greedy" but I really want the whole show.

I was there and the entire thing was quite fantastic -- memorable for the music as well as for my friend getting arrested after the show for traffic ticket warrants.

If anyone can point me to it, I'll be truly Grateful!
